HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE?
Why not enquire about a Blood Pressure device that you can take home and monitor your BP over a 24 hour period?
Some patients may feel a little anxious or rushed when visiting a GP surgery to get their BP taken and this can sometimes result in an inaccurate reading. If you think that you may benefit from trying the 24-Hr Blood Pressure device, please ask one of our friendly clinicians how the service works and if you meet the criteria.

The surgery provides facilities for disabled access. There is a ramp from the car park to the surgery entrance. All areas of the surgery are on the ground floor and there is a disabled bathroom in the main reception area. We have also recently altered the reception desk area to allow improved access for our patients.
We would ask patients with a disability to let reception know if anybody requires assistance. We would welcome any suggestions patients may have in making their visit to the surgery a more pleasant experience. Alternatively, use the suggestion box in the reception area..
Please can patients inform reception if there are any special requirements in the event of an emergency - eg Fire alarm/evacuation.
Have You Tried the Blood Pressure unit yet?
The BP unit is located underneath the TV in the reception area. Please try the BP unit as it saves invaluable clinician time if patients take their own blood pressure whilst waiting for their appointments.
Nothing could be simpler than getting a reading- just follow the instructions that are on the window above the machine and hand your BP reading to reception. It's best if patients using the machine do three separate readings and then hand the reading with the lowest score to a receptionist. If you are a patient at the Practice, feel free to pop in anytime and check your blood pressure.
If you would like help or a demonstration, please ask at reception.
Are You Healthy- Why Not take The Quiz and Find Out?
This NHS Quiz is simple to use and only takes a few minutes. After completion, you receive a personalised Health Score and information about lifestyle changes if applicable.
The One You site also contains relevant apps and information depending on the results. Patients may also be eligible for a free NHS health check. Please click the link below if you want to give it a go.
Are you at risk of Diabetes ? - please take the NHS test and inform reception if you are at risk.
Did Not Attend (DNA) Policy Review
Due to the high number of DNA's per week (around 40), we have had to review our policy regarding patients who do not turn up for their appointments and who do not phone us in time to cancel their time slots.
Please find a copy of amended policy in the policies section. We will be posting up the weekly numbers of DNAs on the reception access window and on the latest news feature at the top of the website.
Please remember to call us if you can't make an appointment- a patient with an urgent need could be potentially put at risk.
PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP
THE PRACTICE WISHES TO INVITE A GROUP OF PATIENTS WHO ARE WILLING TO CONTRIBUTE SOME OF THEIR TIME TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PRACTICE AND ITS HEALTH SERVICES.
We are especially keen to make sure that the group is fully representative of our patients and therefore invite anyone with an interest to enquire about joining.
Please ask to see Mike Pedlow (01895 442026) for more information
We anticipate that the group will meet about four times a year, but arrangements will also be made for members of the group who are not able to attend in person, but feel that they would like to contribute.
We hope that the group will hold their next meeting in August and we are happy for new members to come forward at any time.
If you experience any difficulty when using this website please contact the surgery for assistance
