Online consultation service.

Patchs has been selected to take the place of our current online consultation service to improve the experience for our patients.

The online consultation service offers a secure, simple and flexible way for patients and carers to contact their GP practice – it will not replace face to face appointments, it is in addition to routine contact with Practices. This should not be used for emergencies when you should contact 999 or visit A&E.

By registering you will have easy access to a range of services from your computer or smartphone, including:

  • booking virtual appointments
  • accessing health advice
  • reporting symptoms to your GP

To request repeat prescriptions, you should continue to follow the current process we have in place.

You can register via this link https://patchs.ai/practice/thegreenmedicalcentre or click the Patchs banner below,
All you will need to do is provide an email address and set up a password.

For more information on PATCHS you can visit their website.

Peer Support Groups

The last few months has been a challenging time for everyone and has affected people in many different ways. Now more than ever it’s important to take control and look after our wellbeing, particularly in the winter months and the further isolation required.

We would like to offer you this online Peer support group coordinated by our social prescriber. We will be inviting patients from the local community to join. It will be a friendly and open platform to discuss all anxieties, concerns and an opportunity to talk to other people. It can be utilised as a social group as it is understood that isolation has caused feelings of loneliness for those of all ages.

What we will talk about is up to you! This will be a safe space and what we discuss will be kept confidential.

The session will be held through zoom and run for approximately 1.5 hours.

During the session you will have a chance to ask questions and learn how to:

- Recognising symptoms of anxiety, low mood and stress and what affects our moods

- Tips for keeping well during difficult times such as the pandemic

- Brief relaxation practice

- Suggestions of resources for further support

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE?

Why not enquire about a Blood Pressure device that you can take home and monitor your BP over a 24 hour period?

BP

Some patients may feel a little anxious or rushed when visiting a GP surgery to get their BP taken and this can sometimes result in an inaccurate reading. If you think that you may benefit from trying the 24-Hr Blood Pressure device, please ask one of our friendly clinicians how the service works and if you meet the criteria.

Disabled Access

The surgery provides facilities for disabled access. There is a ramp from the car park to the surgery entrance. All areas of the surgery are on the ground floor and there is a disabled bathroom in the main reception area. We have also recently altered the reception desk area to allow improved access for our patients.

We would ask patients with a disability to let reception know if anybody requires assistance. We would welcome any suggestions patients may have in making their visit to the surgery a more pleasant experience. Alternatively, use the suggestion box in the reception area..

Please can patients inform reception if there are any special requirements in the event of an emergency - eg Fire alarm/evacuation.

Have You Tried the Blood Pressure unit yet?

bp pic

The BP unit is located underneath the TV in the reception area. Please try the BP unit as it saves invaluable clinician time if patients take their own blood pressure whilst waiting for their appointments.

Nothing could be simpler than getting a reading- just follow the instructions that are on the window above the machine and hand your BP reading to reception. It's best if patients using the machine do three separate readings and then hand the reading with the lowest score to a receptionist. If you are a patient at the Practice, feel free to pop in anytime and check your blood pressure.

If you would like help or a demonstration, please ask at reception.

If you experience any difficulty when using this website please contact the surgery for assistance
